Exchanges

Beginning August 27, subscribers have the exclusive privilege to exchange tickets for an alternate performance of the same opera, subject to availability.  Exchanges are allowed up to 24 hours prior to the date printed on your ticket, but we suggest making an exchange request as early as possible for best ticket availability.

Please note: While we attempt to provide the best available seats for an exchange, we may not be able to offer this service in the event of a sold-out performance.

There are three ways to exchange tickets:

1.  In Person

Bring your tickets to the Clowes Memorial Hall Box Office to make your exchange and receive the best seating available.

2.  By Mail

Mail tickets with name, address, and daytime phone to:

Indianapolis Opera
250 E. 38th Street
Indianapolis, IN 46205

Exchange tickets will be mailed back to you (time permitting) or held at Will Call at the Clowes Hall Box Office.

3.  By Fax

  • Tear tickets in half so they cannot be used.
  • Photocopy the torn tickets.
  • Fax the photocopy with your name, address, and daytime phone number to IO Ticket Services at (317) 923-5611.
  • Exchange tickets will be mailed to you (time permitting) or held at Will Call at the Clowes Hall Box Office.

Tax Credit for Unused Tickets

Subscribers unable to use their tickets may return them to Indianapolis Opera for resale.  Tickets must be cut in half and either mailed to Indianapolis Opera Administrative Office or faxed to (317) 923-5611 along with a request for tax credit.  Please notify us of your ticket donation at least 24 hours prior to the performance.

Your donated tickets will be resold, and you will be credited with a tax-deductible contribution to Indianapolis Opera.  A tax credit receipt in the amount of the subscription face value of the ticket(s) will be mailed to you.  Tickets will be accepted for resale after the 24-hour window, but tax credit will not be given for your returned tickets.

Lost Tickets

Call Indianapolis Opera at (317) 283-3470 to replace lost subscription tickets.  If time allows, new tickets will be issued and mailed.  Otherwise, seat passes will be placed at Will Call for pick-up on the day of the performance.  Please bring identification to help Clowes Hall staff expedite your seating.

Upgrading Tickets

Depending upon availability, season subscribers may choose to upgrade their current tickets to another section.  Subscribers must return tickets they are upgrading before new tickets can be issued.  Upgrades will be processed up to the Monday prior to Opening Night.  Subscribers will be charged the price difference if they choose to upgrade to another section.  Please note that we cannot refund if you choose to downgrade a ticket.

Please call the Subscription Service Line at (317) 238-3470 for assistance with upgrading your subscription tickets.

Purchasing Additional Tickets

Season subscribers may purchase additional tickets at a 10% discount beginning on  August 27.  In order for a subscriber to receive their subscriber discount, purchases should be made in person at the Clowes Memorial Box Office or by calling Indianapolis Opera at (317) 283-3470.  Please identify yourself as an IO subscriber when purchasing additional tickets to receive your discount.  Additional seats may be located near you depending upon availability.

Easy Pay Plan
Subscribers have the option of paying 50% when placing an order.  We will then invoice the balance to be due in August.
