Keith Chambers has conducted over 100 performances of 40 different operas for companies including The Dallas Opera, Amarillo Opera, Shreveport Opera, Asheville Lyric Opera, First Coast Opera, American Lyric Theater, Manhattan Opera Studio, Moores Opera Center, The Living Opera, Martha Cardona Opera, Opera in the Ozarks, and American Opera Projects. As Founder & Artistic Director of New Amsterdam Opera, he has conducted acclaimed performances of Beethoven’s Fidelio, Handel’s Messiah, and Verdi’s La forza del destino. He also concurrently serves as Principal Guest Conductor of Manhattan Opera Studio. Mr. Chambers regularly collaborates with top-level artists including Frederica von Stade, Joyce DiDonato, Bryan Hymel, Ana Maria Martinez, Ailyn Pérez, Stephen Costello, and Nathan Gunn. He has served as Cover Conductor for over 40 different operas and has assisted noted conductors including Emmanuel Villaume, Graeme Jenkins, Riccardo Frizza, Willie Anthony Waters, and Patrick Summers.
Mr. Chambers has served as Assistant Conductor of both New York City Opera and The Dallas Opera, Director of the Young Artist Program for Opera New Jersey, Artistic Director & Principal Conductor of The Living Opera, Guest Vocal Coach for the Young Artist Programs of Seattle Opera and Crested Butte Music Festival, and Chorus Master of both Shreveport Opera and Opera Saratoga. A protégé of the pianist Ivan Davis, Mr. Chambers has appeared as concerto soloist with orchestras including the Naples Philharmonic, Delaware Symphony and Frost Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his appointment as a Guest Vocal Coach of the Florida Grand Opera Young Artist Program, upcoming conducting engagements include Hänsel und Gretel and Die Zauberflöte for Manhattan Opera Studio, and La Favorita for New Amsterdam Opera.
