2013-2014 Season: A New World of Opera
Now beginning its 39th season, Indianapolis Opera brings to life four exciting modern operas, three of which will be IO debuts. The criminal mastermind story The Threepenny Opera, our new heartwarming holiday tradition Amahl and the Night Visitors, and the endlessly witty Albert Herring will be performed in the unique and versatile Frank and Katrina Basile Opera Center, while Puccini’s soaring operatic western The Girl of the Golden West will return audiences to the grandeur of Clowes Memorial Hall.
In an art form that is over four hundred years old, step into a vibrant, modern season of diverse productions that will explore the music and stories of the more recent past. Whether you are a lifelong fan or completely new to opera, we welcome you to make Indianapolis Opera part of your live music and theater experience this year!
Season ticket packages are on sale now, and single tickets go on sale September 3. Packages start at just $100, and subscribers receive a 20 percent discount on additional tickets, along with other benefits. Discounts are available for seniors, military personnel, and students.
