Shannon Paige Christie
Soprano Shannon Paige Christie has been performing in the Indianapolis area since she was eight years old. She is passionate about creating memorable characters and performances through an expressive and unique point of view. With classical, musical theater, straight theater, voice over, and dance experience, she prides herself on being a cross-over artist who can perform different genres. She is passionate about all aspects of performance including back stage, directing, administration, and advocacy of the arts. She has participated in many master classes with professionals such as William Bolcom, Joan Morris, Melissa McConnel, English soprano, Sarah Walker, and most recently, baritone Njål Sparbo. In addition to her solo and theatrical performance, Shannon is an experienced choral singer. She was a member, featured soloist, and vice president of University of Indianapolis concert choir and top mixed chamber chorus, performing on several occasions under the direction of Maestro Raymond Leppard. She is also a section leader and substitute in several church choirs in the area, including Castleton United Methodist Church, Our Lady of Lourdes, and Trinity Episcopal. She has also received many music awards and scholarships such as the Mu Phi Alumni Scholarship and the Psi Iota Xi Arts Scholarship and second runner up in the 2012 Young Artists’ Award Competition at the University of Indianapolis.
Shannon completed her Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of Indianapolis, where she studied with Dr. Kathleen Hacker.
