Volunteer with Indianapolis Opera
Volunteers play an important role at Indianapolis Opera – supporting productions, helping our artists, and providing skilled assistance in each department. Be a part of an extraordinary team of passionate opera lovers!
Behind the Scenes Support
It takes a chorus of supporters behind the scenes to make great opera. Use your skills for administrative and promotional support.
Education & Patron Events
Outgoing and friendly volunteers interact with patrons of all ages, either at educational events, productions or special events. Be an opera ambassador today.
Light-walkers: Dream of standing onstage? Volunteers are needed to stand, sit, kneel, lay and/or hold props as the lighting designer adjusts and focuses lights. Must be available during the day during production weeks and be able stand, kneel, etc. for an extended period of time.
Supernumeraries: Special non-singing and non-speaking roles are sometimes needed in operas. Must be available for evening, weekend rehearsals and for each performance.
Signing liability waivers or background checks are required for specific roles.
At this time, there are no Production volunteer positions available.
