On Saturday, February 28th at 6 PM at The Basile Opera Center, the incredible Resident Artists of Indianapolis Opera will present a curated evening of vocal music in celebration of the artistry and legacy of Black composers.
Spanning art song, spirituals, and contemporary operatic repertoire, this dynamic program showcases a broad spectrum of musical language, storytelling, and cultural expression from living and late Black creators. Featuring solos and ensembles that speak to identity, resilience, love, and joy, this evening honors the enduring influence these composers have had, and continue to have, on vocal music.
