For More Information and to speak to our General Director, David Craig Starkey, about your possible investment in the Indianapolis Opera, call 317-283-3531.
As a supporter of the Indianapolis Opera, investing in our Indianapolis Opera Foundation can create an incredible long-term impact that ensures our opera company continues to offer world-class productions for many years to come.

We are emerging as a cultural leader at this extraordinary moment of era-defining events. We are ready for this  moment, to serve as we grow. After a complete organizational restructuring in recent years, the company  embraced an intensive assessment process to examine its business operations and understand community  needs in a changing environment.

Our resulting artistic and administrative model is nimble and active, reaching Central Indiana’s diverse audiences  through intimate operatic productions, educational programs and creative placemaking. We are flexible, relevant and here as partner to our community.

We are:  A Living Classroom
We are: A Champion of Culture in Indiana
We are: A Non-Profit Home for Central Indiana

Philanthropic investment makes today and tomorrow possible!

A Home for Opera in Indiana:
As we approach our 50th anniversary, the Indianapolis Opera is proud to be a part of the city’s rich, cultural fabric and is uniquely equipped to bring the passion, excitement, and art of opera to the community for many more years to come.

Today the BOC is the home of the Opera and its world-class artists, helping to teach, mentor, and lead the cultural growth of Indianapolis, our state and region.

The Basile Opera Center in 2020/2021:
Indianapolis is unique for its extraordinary public-private partnerships, its vibrant and growing arts and cultural scene, and its reputation for innovative thinkers, well-run businesses, and a growing creative class.
A Cultural Incubator and Performance Laboratory
The Basile Opera Center is an asset for the entire community, with year-round activity, performances, meetings, and classes – a creative home for collaboration, where diverse cultural organizations work together and create multi-disciplinary performances, exhibitions, and artistic happenings.

Today the BOC serves as an emerging hub for arts and cultural activity in Midtown, and counts the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, Indianapolis Movement Arts Collective, and Indiana Music Education Association among its resident organizations.
