Indianapolis Opera Hosting the 2019 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions - Indiana District
The Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions is a program designed to discover promising young opera singers and assist in the development of their careers. The Auditions take place in 40 Districts and 12 Regions throughout the US and Canada all run locally by volunteers. Starting with the Auditions of the Air in the 1930s and continuing today, the Auditions have been a defining step in the careers of our greatest opera stars. The Indianapolis Opera is excited to take over the administration of the Indiana District MONC Auditions, which will be held on Sunday, October 13 at the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center on the campus of the University of Indianapolis.
