The second half of the performance we will present a 30 minute "Soap" Opera: Gallantry by American composer Douglas Moore.

March Sundays at the Basile!
Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 3 PM: “Melodrama Moments!”
In this program, the Indianapolis Opera Residents Artists will present scenes of melodrama which span operatic history, featuring the music of W.A. Mozart from the late 18th century, unforgettable moments of Puccini from the turn of the 20th century, and even new opera from only years ago. Our intention is to showcase the breadth of operatic repertoire and the differences in music across time periods, but also highlight what these scenes have in common as expressions of the human experience.
