IAN MICHAEL bass-baritone
Ian Michael (he/him) is a versatile singing actor who resides in South Bend, IN. An Indianapolis native, Ian has performed as a soloist in various concerts throughout Northern Indiana, including Handel’s Messiah, the Mozart Requiem, and Shawn E. Okpebholo’s Songs in Flight. His theatrical credits include Coalhouse Walker Jr. in Ragtime: The Musical, Drifter/Ensemble in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Simone in Gianni Schicchi, and Count Ceprano in Rigoletto. He is also a three-time finalist of the Lotte Lenya Competition. Ian Michael is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a BMA in Voice Performance and Bachelor of Theatre Arts. In addition to performing, he has a passion for education and community outreach. He is currently the chair of the Community Engagement and Education committee for South Bend Lyric Opera and the owner of the Ian Michael Vocal Studio. |

LYNDSAY MOY mezzo-soprano
Mezzo-soprano Lyndsay Moy is a sought-after crossover artist from Indianapolis, IN. She is a leading artist with the Indianapolis Opera, an alumna of the IO Resident Artist program, and has appeared in several IO productions, most notably as Nettie Fowler in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel, Bloody Mary in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific, Kate Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, the Housekeeper in Leigh’s Man of La Mancha, as well as multiple large-scale concert presentations. An avid performer of new works, Lyndsay recently sang the world premiere of Lori Laitman's "Into Eternity" in partnership with Indianapolis Opera and in honor of dear friend and holocaust survivor, the late Frank Grunwald. Other operatic roles include Maurya (Vaughan-Williams' Riders to the Sea), Marcellina (Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro), Fidalma (Cimarosa’s Il matrimonio segreto), Mère Marie (Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites), Zita (Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi), L’Architecture (Charpentier’s Les Arts Florissants), L’écureuil (Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges), and La Badessa (Puccini’s Suor Angelica), among others. Regionally, Lyndsay regularly appears as an alto soloist in concert works, including Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Mass in C Minor, & Choral Fantasy, and Christopher Tin's The Drop That Contained the Sea. She serves as the Director of Education, Community Engagement, & Communications with Indianapolis Opera, holds a MM in Voice from The Cleveland Institute of Music, as well as a BM in Voice and BA in Painting from DePauw University. Lyndsay resides locally with her husband, daughter, & two border terriers, and, also a sought-after painter, Lyndsay specializes in oil painting and portraiture. |

WILL UPHAM tenor
Will Upham, a native Hoosier, is an emerging tenor whose voice has been described as “clear and precise” (St. Louis Arts Scene), “full-bodied” (Opera Today), and possessing “just the right edge” (Broadway World). In the 2024–2025 season, he made a series of notable professional debuts, including Herod in Salome with Union Avenue Opera—a role he first covered at Des Moines Metro Opera, where he also sang First Jew and later covered Steuermann in Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman. With Indianapolis Opera, he performed Action and covered Tony in West Side Story, continuing a growing relationship that has included appearances in Tosca, The Magic Flute, Gallantry, Veteran Journeys, and the company’s 50th Anniversary Concert with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. On the concert stage, Will has recently appeared as tenor soloist in Beethoven’s Christ on the Mount of Olives, Mass in C major, and Symphony No. 9, as well as Haydn’s The Creation and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria. He currently serves as an Adjunct Voice Instructor at Anderson University and Taylor University. Will recently earned his Performer Diploma in Voice from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under the tutelage of Peter Volpe. He is currently based in the Indianapolis area. |

CHARLES MANNING pianist
A native of Charleston, West Virginia, Charles Manning earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the renowned Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. An avid advocate for all things opera, Charles was a founding board member of Indianapolis Opera, and has worked with the opera company on many projects over the years. Most recently he served as an accompanist for the company’s Resident Artists in educational outreach programs. He was also the keyboard artist for the Christmas Concert presented by the Indianapolis Opera Chorus in 2024. Other memorable musical moments for Charles include having once served as rehearsal accompanist for the late renowned opera star Luciano Pavarotti, and having appeared in a nationally broadcast television commercial for Wheaton Worldwide Moving Systems and the Steinway Piano Company. Since 2020, Charles has posted more than 700 videos on his YouTube channel, Piano Pizzazz! Currently, he has had over 1.5 million channel views from more than 82 countries. Charles and his wife Zoë reside in Indianapolis and have two adult sons, Jonathan and Christopher. |
