The Vocal Arts Institute

The Indianapolis Opera is proud to present the Vocal Arts Institute, a program for students entering grade 9 through recent high school graduates exploring the art of solo performance through classical repertoire, folksong, and musical theater.  The Vocal Arts Institute is the perfect opportunity for high school students of all levels to refine their vocal skills in preparation for college. Classes cover a range of topics including movement and choreography, acting, private vocal instruction, auditioning, vocal health, International Phonetic Alphabet, memorization techniques, and college preparation.
The Vocal Arts Institute is now in its 23rd season. Under the tutelage of our highly acclaimed faculty, our students perform consistently well in solo competitions such as ISSMA and the Prelude Awards. In addition, they are confidently prepared for their college entrance auditions and are now pursuing degrees at schools such as the University of Indianapolis, Indiana University, DePaul University, DePauw University, Butler University, Carnegie Mellon University, Ball State University, The University of Cincinnati (CCM), Northwestern University and Florida State University.

For questions, please call the Indianapolis Opera at 317-283-3531 or email Lyndsay Moy at moy@indyopera.org.

Sincerely,
Lyndsay Moy, Education Director
