How do you trip and slip into a hipbath? Celebrating composer Stephen Sondheim, this Tony Award-winning, non-stop, farcical comedy centers around renowned traveling actress Desirée Armfeldt and the two married men in love with her, lawyer Fredrik Egerman and Count Carl-Magnus Malcom. Jealousy and suspicion drive the entangled web of lovers and their families to a weekend in the country with Desirée, where romantic complications arise and hilarity quickly ensues. The unending night casts its magic spell, inviting the possibility for new and rekindled romances. Boasting a brilliant score and clever libretto with the famous “Send in the Clowns,” this production will celebrate an all-Hoosier cast as Indianapolis Opera heads into its 50th season!
