Thank you for joining us for Opera in the Park on Saturday, September 9, 2023. It was a wonderful event filled with beautiful music! Our celebrity host Angela Brown performed an iconic aria from her upcoming role in Indianapolis Opera's Charlie Parker's Yardbird, as well as stunned us with the world premiere of "Cerise's Story" from When the Caged Bird Sings by Nkeiru Okoye. Our Resident Artists had an incredible Indianapolis Opera debut, and Kirsten Gunlogson brought beautiful renditions of "Habanera" and "Send in the Clowns" to this fantastic program. Joshua "Sock Joplin" Thompson performed a stunning piano rendition of "Valley of Bones" by Margaret Bonds and Everett Greene paired with Angela Brown to light up the stage with "Thank Heaven for You" by Micky Grant. We are thrilled that so many of you were able to join us for this event. This Opera in the Park crowd was the largest yet!
