Free Preview: The Monon Town Musicians
FREE Preview Dress Rehearsal of this year's original children's opera, The Monon Town Musicians, open to families with kids Pre-K through 5th grade.
Created with ages Pre-K through 5th grade in mind, this performance is a part of Indianapolis Opera's Sing Me A Story series, which focuses on bringing opera to elementary school children of all backgrounds. To that end, we create a brand new children's opera every year to share with the youngest members of our Hoosier community. Often inspired by fairy tales and fables, each children's opera has a moral at the center of its story, so children are not only exposed to the thrill of live opera singing (from our talented Resident Artists) but are also given the opportunity to learn important lessons. This year's children's opera, The Monon Town Musicians, is a story of overcoming fears, embracing differences, and accepting others through a shared love of music.
Guests are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early to find seating. Children will be seated on the floor, and chairs will be available for adults. Seating is limited based on capacity. The performance will be about 35 minutes long, followed by a Q&A with the performers.
